I've been watching male and female surfers for a long time. In Hawai'i, in New Zealand, in Florida. How they wait. How they paddle. How they ride the perfect wave. How they ride the not-so-perfect waves, too. And they don't get tired. And they keep going out there into the ocean. To ride the waves. The waves that are coming. And that's how I want to ride the waves of my life. No matter which ones. As they come.

I painted this picture on a spring day in 2023, the first picture of my water series. And after the picture I was in a good mood. Because the colors - the yellow, the pink, the mint green, the purple - put a smile on my face. Colors are so powerful when we use them right.
