Women's Power Art from Vienna - Strengthening your own self-worth with colourful women's heads

Viennese artist Carina Schubert paints women's heads or faces in bright colours in small and large formats. These heads have no hair, which surprises or perhaps even frightens some?

For the highly sensitive artist, it is of great importance that women's heads have no hair: "For me, hair and a hairstyle distract from feelings. For me, hair is a symbol of beauty, fashion, work and conformity. But I am interested in the face, which expresses individuality and feelings and which honestly expresses a woman's personality in the moment. I can hide behind hair and a hairstyle, I can give myself differently than I am or than I feel. But the face or the head alone radiates so much strength and honesty. In my pictures with women's faces I process feelings. They are a kind of mouthpiece for my feelings and yes, often they are negative feelings that I sometimes don't know how to deal with. It is important to me that we become more honest and allow our negative feelings such as sadness, anger and fear and stand by them, talk about them and accept them as part of our emotional world. No more repressing them or hiding them. When I know that others feel the same way and that my feelings are "ok", I can also deal with them much better and let them come and go. I have been dealing with feelings, self-worth and high sensitivity for a long time and I can accept more and more who I am and how I feel. And the self-esteem issue is by no means only a women's issue, but because I am a woman, I am particularly interested in empowering women in their individuality and emotional world with my paintings. If my pictures remind women in their living spaces every day that they are ok the way they are and strengthen them in their self-worth, my biggest wish would come true!"

The original artworks by the young artist from Vienna are posted directly in her online shop with details such as sizes and prices. In Vienna's 23rd district, the paintings are displayed in an old factory hall. Is it exclusively art for women, feminine art or female art? "It's not like that," Carina Schubert explains, "I paint for myself and I'm happy when men and women find themselves in my pictures. Maybe partly women can identify more with me as a female artist and my essence than men, but maybe that's just my perception."
